Craig Cox
Managing Editor
In an eclectic journalism career spanning three decades, Craig has edited
newspapers, magazines, books and Web sites. He has worked as an editor at the
Utne Reader, the St. Paul Pioneer Press, Business Ethics magazine, Minnesota
Parent, City Pages and the Twin Cities Daily Planet. His writing has appeared in
dozens of local, regional and national publications, and his reporting and
editing have been recognized with awards from the Society of Professional
Journalists, the Minnesota Newspaper Association, the Knight Foundation and the
National Press Club. He and his wife, Sharon Parker, founded and operated The
Minneapolis Observer, a monthly citywide newspaper, and in their spare time
publish MOQ, a quarterly zine that “explores the bucolic city” of Minneapolis.
Craig earned a BA in journalism and English from the University of Minnesota
and is the author of Storefront Revolution: Food Co-ops and the Counterculture
(Rutgers University Press, 1994). He and Sharon live with their two children,
Nora, 20, and Martin, 18, in south Minneapolis.
