Laine Bergeson

Laine has worked in magazine journalism for over a decade. She came to Experience Life in 2005 after a six-year tenure at Utne Reader magazine. Laine’s writing has appeared in Utne Reader, Whole Life Times, In These Times, a host of regional publications including Minnesota Monthly and The Minneapolis Observer Quarterly, and been anthologized in textbooks and essay collections. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in English literature from St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minn., and a graduate certificate in Women’s Studies from the National University of Ireland, Galway.

Laine lives in Minneapolis with her partner, Desiree, and their three dogs. She spends her free time gardening, baking, and teaching herself to play the piano.
