When Karen Hurd’s 18-month-old daughter was poisoned by a household pesticide in
1989, doctors gave her only a year to live. As the baby’s organs and immune
system began to fail, Hurd researched alternative therapies and put her daughter
on a new diet. Within six weeks, her condition improved dramatically, and she is
now a healthy adult with no signs of permanent damage. A veteran of the Military
